The trade union of the School of Foreign Languages initiated a walk on the wall to boost a team spirit and promote health among its faculty. The walk began at 1 o’clock in the afternoon of Nov. 19th, when the school leaders and faculty members gathered at the east water gate of the city wall. Ma Qiang, secretary of the CPC of the school, made an encouraging speech before the walk. He said that the walk offered teachers a chance to exchange ideas and grow a team spirit. He also commented that the walk gave us relaxation from busy work after the call to pay attention to health.
Chen Meihua, dean of the school, extended her wishes for the good health of the faculty and then called teachers to start the walk. The walk covered the most beautiful part of the city wall of Nanjing, including the east water gate, the Zhonghuamen Gate, the Changganmen Gate, the Jiqingmen Gate and the west water gate. Enjoying the natural beauty in the breeze, teachers walked, talked and laughed, temporarily leaving aside their teaching and research. Delight from the beautiful scenery helped teachers to release their pressure and promote their personal relationship with their colleagues.
