This lecture first looks at layers of time that can be distinguished in translations and at the textual traces pointing to them. It then presents a model enabling us to read translations as interventions in ongoing states of affairs, opening up a view of broader historical contexts.
主讲人简介：
Theo Hermans is currently Emeritus Professor in the Centre for Translation Studies at University College London (UCL). His main research interests concern the theory and history of translation. He is the author of such books as Translation in Systems (1999, reissued in 2020 as a Routledge Translation Classic), The Conference of the Tongues (2007) and, most recently, Translation and History (2022).
